- File shredder: Swift / Balanced / Deep / Custom.
- Enable the Windows context menu in the app settings. It is off for new users; your saved choice is kept when updating. It uses the method selected in the app; the default is Swift, 1 pass.
- Scan before deletion and review detected files.
- Choose categories: temporary data, browser cache and Recycle Bin.
- View used and free disk space.
- Skip busy or inaccessible files and confirm cleanup.
- Saved preferences, trial and code-based paid licenses.
- Optional usage statistics with consent.
File shredder
Overwrite selected files before deleting them. Review the file list and confirm every run. The app cannot undo shredding.
Updates and removal
Install updates manually: download the new version on this page, close the app, and replace the portable files or run the new installer. Updates are not installed automatically.
Update portable
Close the app, extract the new archive and replace app files. Settings and the license in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Y-Cleaner are retained. Do not run two copies during the update.
