Y-Cleaner 1.2.3 is designed for Windows 10 / 11 x64. Always review the selected categories and files before cleaning.
Portable version and installer
For the portable version, extract the entire archive into a separate folder and run YCleaner.exe. Do not run the application from inside the archive. For a standard installation, run the installer and follow its steps. Both versions store settings and license state in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Y-Cleaner. Moving the portable folder does not change the license's binding to the computer.
14-day trial
Connect to the internet on first launch so the server can register your trial. The license and trial are bound to the device. Reinstalling the application or deleting its settings does not start a new trial. The remaining time is shown under License.
Analysis and cleaning
- Open PC cleanup and select Analyze.
- Review the files found. Deselect any categories you do not want to clean.
- The Recycle Bin is not selected automatically. Check its contents before selecting it.
- Select Clean and confirm your chosen action.
- Review the result: deleted and skipped files, and the space freed.
Not all temporary data can be deleted: open, busy, recently created, and inaccessible files may be skipped. The space actually freed may differ from the analysis. System temporary folders may require running as administrator.
Skip busy files
Files in use are skipped immediately by default. Turn off “Skip files in use” to make two safe retries, 50 ms apart. If the lock remains, the file is not deleted and is listed as an error in the report. No forced deletion or process termination is used.
Browser cache
Standard Chrome, Edge, and Firefox profiles are supported. The application cleans cache and preserves history, saved passwords, cookies, and bookmarks. Custom portable profiles may not be detected. Closing browsers requires confirmation: save open forms and any work in your browser first.
Find large files
Find large files on a drive, open their folder or delete selected files after reviewing them. Ordinary deletion and shredding are separate actions.
File shredder
Open File shredder, add files and choose a method. Review the list, then confirm deletion. From the Windows menu, choose Shredder Y-Cleaner: the app opens the selected files for confirmation.
- Swift — 1 pass of random data. The default method.
- Balanced — 3 passes: zeros, ones and random data.
- Deep — 7 passes: alternating patterns and random data.
- Custom — Choose 1 to 35 passes. More passes take more time.
Enable the Windows context menu in the app settings. It is off for new users; your saved choice is kept when updating. It uses the method selected in the app; the default is Swift, 1 pass.
Overwrite selected files before deleting them. Review the file list and confirm every run. The app cannot undo shredding.
Shredding runs locally: names and contents of selected files are not sent to the server.
Purchase, activation, and renewal
Save the order link before paying. Your license code will appear on that page.
Open Y-Cleaner → License → paste your code → Activate. Connect to the internet for activation.
To renew, enter your existing code when purchasing. If the license is still active, the purchased 30 or 365 days are added to its remaining term. If it has expired, the new term starts from payment. There are no automatic charges.
Payment sent, but no code yet
Open the order page and select “Refresh status”. If payment is not confirmed, keep the order number and payment receipt to contact the seller.
How do I find my order page?
Use your saved link or the Return to my purchase button on the homepage in the same browser. You can also open My order. If you cleared your browser data and lost the link, it cannot be recovered using only an email address: email is not collected. For manual verification, the seller needs the order number and details of the confirmed transaction.
Changing computers
One code works on one device. Before activation on a new computer, the seller must reset the license's device binding in the CRM. This stops further license checks on the previous device.
Cannot reach the server
Internet is needed to start the trial, activate and verify the license. After a successful check, the app works without y-cleaner.com for up to 24 hours, within the license term. Then reconnect.
Mini widget
Enable the mini widget in Settings. It shows current cleanup and license data, opens the main window, and can be dragged around the screen. The widget is off by default; its state and position are saved. It stays when the app is minimized and closes when the app is fully closed.
Updates and removal
To update the portable version, close it and replace the application files. Settings in the user's data folder are preserved. Remove the installed version through Windows Settings → Apps. Removing the application does not reverse a payment or restart the trial.
